Module Description
While all of you definitely eat, many of you probably don’t do a lot of cooking or shopping for food. This module centers on both cooking and grocery shopping, and the valuable part they can play in the rest of your life.
Eating is a focus as we investigate the federal government’s place in how we eat. There is also a section on dieting. Dieting is an eating approach that people take to lose weight.
Getting started cooking, and different ways to cook, play prominent roles in this module. If you are a high school student still living at home, much of this information will become relevant when you eventually leave home to live on your own.
During the Covid-19 pandemic grocery shopping was the only reason that many individuals left their house. You’ll see how going to the grocery store is interesting and fun, as well as a way to interact with your neighborhood and your community.

►A quiz at the end of each section, to assess your understanding of the key points in that section, that must be completed with a perfect score of 100%. (You have a maximum of 7 attempts. Your attempts are tracked and counted.)
►An exam at the end of the module, which you will take just one time, to give an overall assessment of how well you understand the key points of the module. (Many of the same questions from the quizzes will show up here.)
